Echo Views
Climbing up to the Echo rim on the east brings wonderful views of the Tahoe Basin and Lake Tahoe. Echo Peak above Upper Echo is a one hour scramble to a vantage point with breathtaking panoramas of the emerald expanse of Lake Tahoe plus the Crystal Range above Desolation Valley (below).

North from Echo's western rim with Pyramid visible in the left background. Not visible but familiar to Echo Lakers are two small lakes, Cup and Saucer, which sit near the top of of either side of this main ridge. Tamarack Lake in the right center is one of three lakes located a short distance up the main trail on its way over the divide to Desolation Valley.
